Capital Campaign Public Phase Begins

The public phase of the 2022 Saint Andrew’s Capital Campaign begins now!

Renewing the Gift

For what was, thanks be to God

For what is, thanks be to God

For what will be, thanks be to God

On Tuesday, May 19, St. Andrew’s Vestry approved a capital campaign goal of $720,000.

For nearly two years, the Vestry and parishioners of Saint Andrew’s have been in dialogue to discern this: What are our priorities for renewing the welcoming spirit of our worship space? The goals are to create better spiritual and physical access for all who worship with us, care for our historic building, and ensure enough funds for the future care of our beloved church.

Here are the components of the Capital Campaign project: restore our 125-year-old windows, pay for the repairs to the nave ceiling, replace the organ with a restored and more suitable instrument, improve the accessibility and beauty of the altar space and the front entrance, install solar panels, establish an endowment fund for future upkeep of the structure, and finally, offer up a full tithe to share this renewal beyond our immediate circle.

Our Campaign Committee will begin contacting parishioners in June. The first calls will be made on every member of the Vestry. It is our intention to complete this work by October.

Parishioners’ circumstances differ, and we ask that each member of St. Andrew’s reflect carefully on the meaning of their own gift. Every gift will help this project reach the goals, and the result of this community effort will affect us for many years to come. It is our hope that all parishioners will participate in the campaign as their capacity allows.

Of course, the church needs our support to continue to operate during the campaign period! Your ongoing, faithful stewardship is necessary to keep the doors open and our ministry alive. For this reason, a gift to the campaign can’t be thought of as a replacement for continuous stewardship support.

Together we can look forward to the day when all will be able to enter our church more easily; worship in a space bathed in the light of beautifully restored stained-glass windows; praise God to the tones of an organ well suited to our space and our voices; receive communion at an altar rail accessible to all; and know our house of worship runs on the power of God’s sun.

We are inspired to take this journey with you.
