Last year, St. Andrew’s Samaritan Fund gave $450 to the Head to Head School in Belle Vue, Haiti, the school founded by Jean Lubin, a Haitian who works in Connecticut. St. Andrew’s parishioners Lisa Brown and John Gfroerer got to know Jean by making a short video about his work. View that video here on their website - it’s only 8 minutes long, and very inspiring!
No one at the school was injured in the January earthquakes, but the building was damaged and cannot be used, and the costs of repair are still unknown. St. Andrew’s will be keeping in touch with Jean and looking out for ways to assist further, as our small contribution to the long and difficult time of recovery ahead for Haiti and its people.
