On Sunday May 17th, St. Andrew’s celebrated our newest members with a special liturgy at the 10 am service. St. Andrew’s newcomers came forward to be recognized with a blessing. At coffee hour, the celebration continued where the children were asked to put their thumbprints on the mural that hangs in the great hall.
Did you know that within the last year, there have been more than 20 families or households that have joined the church? Of those new members, 23 adults and children were able to join us for Sunday’s event. The photo above shows many of our newcomers gathered at the front of the church for a special blessing. What a testament to what a growing community we continue to be at St. Andrew’s!

During the festive Coffee Hour, the children of our new families had the opportunity to add their thumbprints to the mural in our Great Hall. The main panel is framed by branches; each branch has leaves that are a child’s thumbprints, and each branch also carries a word that that child associates with St. Andrew’s – like “community,” “music,” “friends”! Any member of St. Andrew’s who has not yet put their thumbprints on the mural can contact Judith Maloy or the church office, and we’ll find a time to do so.
Anyone interested in joining the welcoming team to help with future newcomers events, please contact Judith Maloy at 228-8787 or email at jmmaloy@comcast.net. On behalf of the PG&E committee, thank you for being such a warm and welcoming community of worship.
